07 Sep Four Benefits of Breast Augmentation (besides the obvious two).
Aside from two beautifully enhanced breasts shaped to suit you, Breast Augmentation allows you to sit back, look down and admire your new chest view and reap the social, emotional and physical rewards. Women who have undergone the procedure say selecting breasts to suit their body has increased their confidence, provided positive body image and made them feel more comfortable within themselves.
Specialist plastic surgeon Morris Ritz of Melbourne is experienced in the art of breast augmentation, and has been performing augmentation surgery for many years. Here we explore the breast augmentation journey and the benefits it brings.
What is Breast Augmentation?
More commonly known as a ‘boob job’, breast implant surgery (breast augmentation), can be used to enlarge small breasts, restore breast volume post weight loss or post breastfeeding, even up asymmetric breasts and reconstruct after mastectomy or injury.
After consultation with specialist plastic surgeon Morris Ritz, he will discuss with you the best type of implant to suit your body. We prefer to use silicone implants as they give a more natural look and feel. They are made from a cohesive silicone and give a more natural result than saline.
A Surgery Snapshot
Your specialist surgeon Morris Ritz makes an incision – in the location discussed in your pre-operative consultations; either the armpit, crease beneath the breast or around the areola. Behind or in front of the pectoral (chest) muscle, a pocket is made for the implant to be inserted into. The implant is placed and drain tubes are put in to remove any excess fluid, these stay in for 24-48 hours. It’s important to remember that there are risks associated with any type of surgery. For this type of proceudre the risks include bleeding, infection, haematoma. For some patients there is a risk of hardening of the implants, called capsular contracture. Implants do need to be changed rougly every 1- years they are not permanent. We have ongoing follow up to monitor your breasts.
Your Two Beauties and the Benefits they Bring
1. Self-esteem, bring your confidence back to life
Small breasts can often be the cause of insecurity. Breast Augmentation can have you feeling more confident about yourself and your more shapely figure. Being more confident in social situations and having increased confidence in intimate situations, with improved interpersonal skills, is often a result of the procedure.
2. Self-satisfaction; returning to normal
Augmentation is a form of cosmetic surgery not just for housewives of the Hollywood Hills. Yes, enlargement and reshaping is a common desire but the surgery is also performed for reconstructive reasons following mastectomies and even simply following weight loss and breastfeeding. That sense of returning to normal (bringing the fullness back), feeling as though everything is how it should be and how you want it to be is extremely satisfying.
3. Positive Body image – take a really good look…after all they are yours
Whether they don’t match in size, you think they are too small or you simply want to look better in your clothes, Breast Augmentation gives women a much desired positive view of their body and stops the “if only my boobs looked better in this” and “I wish I could fill the top of this outfit/bikini better” negative body comments. Combine this positive body image with most women’s desire for a new wardrobe to suit their new shapelier figure and you have one very happy lady.
4. Sexuality and femininity increased to the power of 10!
The confidence and positive outlook with your new shape spills over to your feelings of femininity and sexual desirability. Many women take pride in their new cleavage and take pleasure in revealing their assets to their partner and even to their intrigued, interested (and ok, maybe just a bit jealous!) friends.
How can I make this happen?
With many decisions to make before your Breast Augmentation procedure, it is important to make the best choices for your specific needs.
Specialist surgeon Morris Ritz is committed to educating potential patients about the procedure, its benefits, and any risks involved so that you’re well informed and prepared to undergo your surgery.
