Breast reduction surgery with Dr Morris Ritz

“A breast reduction is a functional as well as cosmetic operation. Heavy breasts are not only difficult for many patients, but they cause neck and shoulder discomfort, problems with bras and skin rashes.

During breast reduction surgery, I am looking to make the breasts smaller and more manageable. I am also looking to lift and reshape the breasts into beautiful, natural looking contours for my patient.”

What does breast reduction surgery involve?

The technique that Dr Ritz uses for your breast reduction depends on your unique characteristics. Your body composition, the current size of your breasts and your cosmetic goals all dictate the method that Dr Ritz employs.

Typically, Dr Ritz will make incisions around the areolas (and within them if you want smaller nipples) that will travel down to the fold underneath the breasts.

The incision will give Dr Ritz access to the underlying fatty tissues. He will then remove the fat that makes up the heavy, bulk of the breast.

Dr Ritz will then reshape the breasts as well as position them on the chest in a more appealing manner. He will also move the nipple to the front of your new breasts.

The consultation process

A consultation is designed to help you learn more about the procedure you are interested in. For breast reduction, Dr Ritz will review your medical history and determine whether you are healthy enough to receive surgery. He will also measure your breasts and ask about the symptoms you are experiencing.

During your consultation, you will be able to discuss your desired outcome for surgery. Together, you and Dr Ritz can find the best size for your breasts that makes you feel confident, reduces discomfort and looks proportional.

Two weeks before your surgery, you will see Dr Ritz once more to review your surgery and go over any other questions and concerns that you may have.
