About Minimal Access Cranial Suspension Lift

Initial Consultation

During your initial consultation with Mr Ritz, he will discuss the procedure with you, pre operatively, what happens during the surgery and your post operative care, and any risks or complications involved, there are risks associated with any surgery no matter how big or small, it is important you are aware of them and understand them. We like to see you again prior to your surgery, so we will get you in for another consultation about 2 weeks prior to your procedure, to discuss the surgery again and answer any further questions you may have.

During the Surgery

On the day of surgery you will admit 2 hours prior to surgery, Mr Ritz will see you again and draw markings on you for surgery, the anaesthetist will also speak to you. The proceudure is usually performed by creating tiny incisions in the hairline or near the ears. The muscles and skin tissues are lifted and the excess is removed.

Recovery

Patients are required to stay in hospital 1 night, you may have drain tubes in which are removed after 24 hours. You will have a bandage over your head which is kept in place until we see you about 1 week later. We will see you weekly for the first few weeks.

Post Operative Care

You are unable to drive for the first 48 hours, after that once the swelling has settled you are ok to drive, you are limited with physical exercise for the first 6 weeks.
