Breast Augmentation Before and After

Breast Augmentation Photos

Breast augmentation involves the insertion of implants beneath your breast. This adds symmetry to your body shape and improves your breast contour. Aside from enhancing your existing breast appearance, it can also be performed to reconstruct the breasts. Common indications for breast reconstruction include deformities and surgical removal of the breasts. Here you can check our breast augmentation photos of actual patients performed by our highly trained and experienced plastic surgeon Dr Morris Ritz.

Best candidates for the procedure

Before the procedure, we will assess your general health to determine factors that may affect the clinical outcome. In general, you are best suited for this procedure if:

  • You have fully developed breasts.
  • You have good physical and mental health.
  • You have realistic expectations.
  • Your breasts are too small for your body frame.
  • Your breasts differ in size or shape.
  • Your breasts lost their shape and volume due to ageing, pregnancy, or significant weight loss.

How the procedure is performed

During your initial consultation, we will help you choose the type of implants that will best suit your body type and desired results. Once you are satisfied with your final selection, we will schedule your surgery.
On the day of your surgery, you will receive general anaesthesia for your comfort. Once it has taken effect, Dr Ritz will make a cut in your breasts. The incision can be created under your breasts, in your armpit, or around your nipples. He will then separate the breast tissue to create a pocket. This is where Dr Morris Ritz will insert the breast implants. Once the implants are secured in place, our surgeon will use sutures to close the incisions. Surgical drains will also be inserted into the incisions to prevent fluid build-up.

Things to consider before having the procedure

There are some important things that you should know before undergoing the procedure. This includes the following:

  • Breast implants may affect your breastfeeding ability.
  • The procedure cannot prevent the effects of ageing on your breasts.
  • You may need another surgery in the future to replace your implants.

Recovery after the procedure

After your surgery, it is normal to experience mild bruising and swelling in your breast area. After 24 hours, your drains will be removed. Once your condition is stable, Dr Ritz will allow you to go home. As you recover, it is recommended to avoid vigorous activities such as heavy lifting. It is also beneficial to have someone assist you in your daily activities at home. To prevent discomforts, you will need to take pain medications and anti-inflammatories.
